Registration Process Overview

This page provides an overview of the process to gain access to STEM Online NZ and DT & HM Online for NCEA courses. These resources are available free of charge to New Zealand high school teachers and their students.

Click the buttons at the bottom of this page to be guided step by step through the process of registering as a teacher or registering students.

Register with The University of Auckland

The first step is for teachers and students to be registered with The University of Auckland in order to receive a unique username and ID number which will be used to access the resources.

Registering your students is now as easy as providing a class list containing each student’s full name, date of birth and school email address.

We recommend that teachers register themselves to begin with to review the resources, then register students at a later date.

Note: Teachers who have previously studied or worked at The University of Auckland will already be registered and should contact us for username and ID details if unknown, as the system will not allow a duplicate registration to be created.

The STEM Online NZ team set you up with access

Once registered, the STEM Online NZ team will then enrol teachers and students in their chosen course(s) on CANVAS, The University of Auckland’s learning management system. This will allow access to the STEM Online NZ resources.

Please allow 2-3 working days for the registration process.
